Reader Response #6 Find a Poet

The poet I found was Edgar Allen Poe. I like the poetry I read on this site because it is depressing and he relates to the common person. The reason I like his depressing poems is because I like a lot of depressing things, such as music. Another reason I like his poems is because they relate to most people even though they are depressing. One thing I dislike about the poems is that some of them are misleading such as the poem “Conflict”. Some of his poems also contradict each other. This makes it hard - unless you know the dates and his background – to actually know what he is trying to tell you in his poems.

The poems connect to my life because in the music I listen to it is similar to the main idea to Edgar Poe’s poems. In some of the poems he wrote he talks about how love is a wonderful thing but it can hurt more then it is worth. Some of the songs I listen to try to say that love is hurtful and not worth it unless you can take the hurt. The poems may not directly relate to me but it relates to the music that I listen to.

My definition of poetry is the poet writes what they feel and believe in to express their feelings. I think this because a lot of poets write what they think about the most and what they think is the most important thing in their life.

Reader Response #3

Huck is impressed about many things in the Grangerfords house. One of the thing that Huck is impressed about is the style of the house. What he means by this is that it is no like most houses in the cuntry. The house did not have a parlor and no bed. This was different because most houses had parlors in them with beds. Another reason that the house was different was bcause the house had more stuff that you would see if you had a house in town and not in the country. Another thing that impresses huck it that was a room that had paintings and poetry in it. This shows that Huck's views of happiness and sucess were varied. What I mean by this is that Huck wants to have nice house but he does not want it in the city and he would rather have it in the county. It also sends the messege that Huck does not want to live a fancy life but more of a calm and middle class life so that people do not judge him on things that he does.

The books in the house were both poetry and educational with a mix of religious. This meas that the family is a riligious and they have some interest in education and poetry. This shows that Huck expects toget an education to an extent. What i mean by this is that he will get an education until he feals that it is to controlling for him. Huck stated that the books were interesting this can be interpreted that Huck has an iterest in poetry religion and education. The fact that Twain went to the extent to use an entie chapter to describe the books and paintings shows that Twain views education as important and somthing every one should have no matter where they live. This shows that Twin took an interest into educain because he is expressing himself through Huck.

The unique thing about the scrapbook and the poetry along with the paintings is that they were all done by a Grangerford. She was only fifteen when she died in the fued so the family tresures the scrapbook, paintings, and the poetry. She seemed to be obsessed with death. In my opinion this is because ofthe fued and the many people that died. I think that it was her way of expessing that he wantd the fued to end.

How we can help 826 national

We can help 826 National by gathering money to help support the cause of 826 National. We cand do this through various ways. One way we can do this by starting a fund Raiser. this would help us gather money as a school or class to support the cause od 826 national. Another way we caould help 826 is by Teachers volenteering for free tuturing and help the people who cannot afford for private tutuing. We could even help them if they helped us gather more funding so that it would be easer to help them after we get the funding so that we caould help ourselves. With us being able to help ourselves we could also provide more toutering to the people who need help even if they do not go to thurston.

How 826 national can help us

826 national can help us in many ways. One of the ways it could help us is to provide toturing to some of the kids in the school who need help. This would raise our meap scores and we would get more funding to start a program that would we could use to help out 826 national. They could also help not just our school but our entire district. This would allow us to help them because if our entire district is doing better then we could pass it onto other district near us and then they could pass it on and so on and so forth. Then after an large amount of time all of michigan would be able to help other states which would lead to a chain reaction. This would help them complete their purpose of helping people get excited about reading and writing. This would also help the world.

Blog # 5 Friendship

Name of song "Juggalo Homies"

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4g0xfPizEd0

The song "Juggalo Homies" relays the message that if you have friends they are like family. The reason it relays this messege is because a Juggalos friends are the juggalos family.

This is a good song but not my favorite. the reason i like the song is because it relays an important messege that most people do not get unless they are a juggalo.

THis song relates to my life because i am a juggalo and i have many family members that are not related by blood just because they are my friends.

Reader Response 1: Huck Finn (1 - 6)

Racism
Ch-6 , Page 20, Par-3
" There was a free "N" there, from Ohio; a mulatter, most as white as a white man. He had the whitest you ever see, too, and the shineist hat; and there ain't a man in that town that's got as fine as clothers as what he had... they said he could vote, when he was at home..It was 'lection dayand i was just about to go vote, myself, if i wern't to drunk to get there; butwhen they told me there was a Stat in this countrywhere the'd let that "N" vote, i drawed out. I says I'll never vote again" There was a black man that had the best clothes in the state and he was free. The state said he could vote and Pap decided when hes was gouin to vote that hje was never voting again just because the black man in ohio was alowed to vote.
I think that this quote is racist in many ways but i am only pointing out one for the sake of time. One way that it is racist is because "Pap" was mad that a black man was allowed to vote and he said he was not goin to vote. "Pap" said he would never vote again just because a black person was allowed to vote. So he is just not doing somthing just because a black peson can. This is just like me saying that i am not ever going to eat lunch just because a black person can. That would be utter nonsense because it would only harm me and no one else. This proves that there is no pouint to racism.
Mark twain would dislike this quote about the same or even more that about how much i dislike it. This was proven when Mark Twain moved to the north during his life time. During his life time there was still slvery in the south. There was more racist people in the south than there was in the north. This suppo0rts my prevois statment that mark twain would dislike this quote as much or motre than me.
